      ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

      General:

      St. Louis Bar & Grill is intent on meeting the requirements of Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07 under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and applies to the provision of goods and services to the public or other third parties, not to the goods themselves.

      St. Louis Bar & Grill is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. All goods and services provided by St. Louis shall follow the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Ontario’s accessibility laws.

      Everyone in the workplace must be dedicated to uphold this policy, and will be held accountable for breaches of this policy.

      At St. Louis Bar and Grill, our goal is to not only meet the basic requirements of the A.O.D.A but to exceed them through Guest First thinking and ensuring all our Guests (regardless of disability) are treated with the upmost respect.

      Employees with questions or concerns regarding the A.O.D.A. are invited to bring these questions or concerns to the attention of Management.

       

      Training:

      To ensure all Team Members have received the proper training on the requirements under this policy, St. Louis Bar and Grill provides each new Team Member with training containing accessibility-related responsibilities that they must be aware of and adhere to while at work. This training will take place on our online training platform within fifteen days of being hired. Each employee must read and understand the applicable policies and complete any necessary courses or tests.

      This policy and associated training may address the following topics:

      1. Information and Communication (including technologies);
      2. Employment (including Recruitment and Selection);
      3. The built environment;
      4. Supports for Employees (including individual accommodation plans);
      5. The procurement of goods, services, and facilities (including

      transportation);

      1. The design and delivery of programs and services;
      2. The Use of Assistive Devices and/or Support Persons;
      3. The Use of Guide Dogs, Service Animals and Service Dogs;
      4. Notice of Service Disruptions;
      5. Employee Training;
      6. Guest Feedback;
      7. The Ontario Human Rights Code as it pertains to persons with disabilities.

       

      Information and Communication:

      St. Louis Bar & Grill is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. When asked, we will provide information and communications materials in accessible formats or with communication supports. This includes publicly available information about our goods, services and facilities, as well as publicly available emergency information.

      St. Louis Bar & Grill will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.

       

      Employment:

      St. Louis Bar & Grill will notify the public and staff that, when requested, we will accommodate disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired. If needed, we will provide customized workplace emergency information to employees who have a disability. If using performance management, career development and redeployment processes, we will take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.

      Design of Public Spaces:

      St Louis Bar & Grill will meet the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces when building or making major modifications to public spaces. Public spaces include:

      • Recreational trails/beach access routes;
      • Accessible off-street parking;
      • Service-related elements like service counters, fixed queuing lines and waiting areas.

       

      Modifications to This or Other Policies:

      Any of our policies that do not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified or removed.

       

      Feedback:

      St. Louis Bar & Grill shall provide customers with the opportunity to provide feedback on the service provided to customers with disabilities.
